THESE Remarks were, in the first instance, printed for private distribution, but are now, on the recommendation of those to whose judgment the Writer defers, placed within the reach of all who are ready to use their influence in promoting a safe and philanthropic measure for removing the evils which some of our own countrymen, as well as others, have inflicted upon the New Zealanders, without exposing them to the risk which would be incurred by an attempt at Colonization.
